Which type do I need?
Type 1 (20mm) suits most full-frame sensors, Type 2 (17mm) suits APS-C and crop sensors, and Type 3 (24mm) suits medium format and larger sensors. Choosing the correct width matters — a swab that’s too narrow leaves streaks, and one that’s too wide won’t reach the corners.
Cleaning your sensor (with Sensor Swab® ULTRA and Eclipse®)
Lock the mirror up or set your camera to sensor-cleaning mode and work in a clean, still environment. Apply two drops of Eclipse® to one edge of a fresh swab, then draw it across the sensor in a single, even pass with light pressure. Flip the swab and return in the opposite direction to lift anything left behind. Use a new swab for every clean — never re-use one, as trapped particles are what cause scratches. Most sensors need only one or two passes.
Cleaning lenses and filters (with PEC*PAD® and e-wipe®)
Apply several drops of Eclipse® to a clean, folded PEC*PAD® and wipe lightly in a single direction, starting at the centre and working outwards, sliding the pad off the edge rather than back toward the centre. This avoids hazy swirls. The pre-moistened e-wipe® is ideal on the move for eyepieces, filters and front elements when you don’t want to carry fluid.
Please note: always match the swab type to your sensor size, and handle swabs and pads by the handle or edges only to avoid transferring finger oils.

2. Lock up the mirror / enter sensor cleaning mode and blow away loose dust
3. Apply two drops of Eclipse® to a fresh swab
4. Draw the swab across the sensor in one pass, flip, and return
5. Dispose of the swab after use
