1. How long have you been in the business as specialist technicians repairing Wide Format Printers?

8 years as an authorised Epson Service Provider (since 1982 in the photographic/imaging industry from the chemical side so understand the industry from Silver halide right up to Digital). We have a direct contract with Epson for a professional portrait system which involves - network support and setup, printer installation/training and taking a photographer that is new to Digital from capture right through to colour accurate output.

2. Who are the technicians?

Matthew Wood and Darren Remmers carry out nationwide service - have access to other trusted companies for geographical response. It does speak for the reliability of the product that we carry out all warranty work for FujiFilm with just 2 engineers and cover all of the UK.

3. In which area do you operate?

Nationwide

4. What are your standard call out fees?

Starts at ?200 (includes travel time and 2 hours on site) - does depend on the area for areas more than 2 hours drive from London ?350.00 and 4 hours from London ?450.00. We will attempt to repair most issues on the phone - no charge but if a call is required then we can quote. Once the customer has used our service we offer unlimited free hardware technical support for the life of the equipment as well as honest advice on if the printer is uneconomical to repair and also advice on upgrades - as we know the troublesome models and the ones that we very rarely have to go to!

5. Could you give a few examples of the base-cost of the most common repairs?

Most common repair Clean up with pump, cap wiper starts at ?121.00 for parts (>80% of calls). Printheads from ?178.00 - we pass on the costs of parts at cost plus handling/shipping fee, we aim to make our money from the labour aspect.

If customer is willing and able we do offer the facility to sell the parts and for a small charge (starts at ?45.00) offer telephone support to help with the customer to fit the parts. (this is not viable on all models and all parts as a service utility is required which can only be used by our authorised by Espon laptops - also printheads have to be fitted by us due to the complexity of adjustments and settings but caps this is viable)
The only 2 'common' changes are listed above there really is no set pattern to failures apart from this so we quote on a case by case basis when we speak with customers.
